As of today, users attempting to configure Thunderbird for use with tcfreenet.org email should have all the requisite settings (server names, ports, protocols) automatically filled in thanks to the autoconfiguration functionality in newer versions.

You can now reset your email password here and access web mail here. (Mind the SSL!)
Additionally, you can use IMAP/SMTP directly. Please use <username>@tcfreenet.org for the username and mx.tcfreenet.org for the mail server (both incoming and outgoing). The ports to use can be seen to the right.

* Plaintext connections are officially unsupported; use at your own risk. This isn't your parents' Internet. (Additionally, mail relaying may not work.)
Be sure to disable any "use secure authentication" options, as they don't work with our authentication back-end.
We'll get to loading up old mail at some point.

Okay, so.
Obviously we were down for a while -- close to three months. In case it wasn't sufficiently obvious, the main server went kaput.
But, we're back. And we're getting an overhaul.
What does this mean for our users? A bit of migration. Stand by, we'll have the more detailed answers in a few days.
In the meantime, we're accepting mail for existing users. It's been long enough...

(And as always, thanks to VISI.com for hosting our busted hardware.)
